ONLINE CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

We offer online psychology appointments through video-conferencing with a clinical psychologist. Evidenced-based data have shown that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy in supporting people with various mental health concerns. Online therapy may not be suitable for everyone and is not a crisis service. We are happy to discuss your concerns and options with you in our first session.

The goal of psychology is to understand, relieve, and reduce psychological distress and improve overall functioning and wellbeing. Clinical psychology takes an evidence-based approach to clinical practice.

FOUNDER OF EMPATH

DR JERRY HSU, Ph.D

Kia ora e hoa. My name is Jerry Hsu, New Zealand registered clinical psychologist and clinical researcher. I founded Empath because I believe that many people who experience psychological distress have nowhere to turn to, especially people who may still be meeting life's needs and may appear 'happy' to others. Empath is a platform for adults who would like to talk to someone about their concerns and work collaboratively on psychological strategies to give them a 'boost'. We aim to work with you short-term so that many others can benefit from psychology. We work with various mental health concerns, which can include:

  • anxiety

  • depression/low mood

  • intrusive thoughts

  • stress

  • low self-esteem

  • distress

  • feelings of emptiness

  • feeling 'out-of-control'

  • interpersonal issues

  • and other mental health concerns
