HOW LONG DOES EACH PSYCHOLOGY SESSION TAKE?

Our psychology sessions are 25 minutes. In the first session, we will gather some ideas of your presenting concerns and the reason you are seeking psychology. This session is also for us to get to know each other. Thereafter, we will continue with psychological assessment of your presenting concerns to devise a plan together to find the best way to work with you.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

The number of sessions required is assessed on an individual basis. We aim to work with you short-term so that many others can benefit from psychology. Typically, we try to complete our work in 12 weekly sessions (25 mins per session).

WHAT DO THE SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?

Following our initial session, we start with psychological assessment. This is usually around four 25-min sessions where we gather a better understanding of the possible contributing and maintaining factors surrounding your concerns. This process is designed to be therapeutic. The information gleaned from this process will be put into a diagram/flowchart and then discussed with you to inform our treatment goals and approaches. Our progress is tracked using various evidence-based methods. Following this, we will collaboratively work on individualized psychological strategies to address your main concerns and follow-up with you at a later time to track your improvements. We use methods gathered from evidenced-based treatments, which can include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy.

WHAT IS THE COST PER SESSION?

Our cost is flexible because we would like to try to accommodate for everyone's financial capabilities. The cost for a 25-minute session is $58 to $115. You choose what you would like to pay based on your financial situation. We won't ask for proof of income or if you have a community service card. We will ask what you can pay in our initial session so that we can generate an invoice for you for each session. Our goal is to work with and help people so that they can focus on other aspects of their lives.
